Church History How-To. The Baptist History and Heritage Society released A How-to Kit for Your Church's History. The key item is a detailed, 120-page How-to Manual for Your Church's History -- a collection of suggestions for creating and maintaining a program of history in your church. Chapters focus on developing an efficient church history committee; celebrating the church anniversary; researching, writing, and publishing church history; locating and preserving church records; displaying, exhibiting and communicating church history; and dramatizing and photographing church history. The kit also contains a resource catalog, list of Baptist history programs and collections, description of the society's Web site, sample pamphlets, issue of the society's newsletter, a society membership brochure, a book publishing program flyer, and an order form for Baptist heritage videotapes. Myths and Misperceptions about CBF. By CBFSC Coordinator Marion Aldridge. Rich Text Format.

CBFSC Strategic Plan. Adopted Sept. 13, 2001

CBFSC's coordinator, Marion Aldridge, has written three books and edited a third. His most recent book, Overcoming Adolescence, is available through Smyth & Helwys publishers and challenges readers to grow up all the way—mentally, physically, academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.  He has authored two texts on worship that are used by pastors and in seminaries all over America:  The Pastor's Guidebook, a Manual for Worship and The Pastor's Guidebook, A Manual for Special Occasions.  These can be ordered through any Christian or secular bookstore.  Along with Kevin Lewis, Aldridge edited The Changing Shape of Protestantism in the South, published by Mercer University Press.

CBFSC's associate coordinator, Christina Whitehouse-Suggs, contributed to Baptimergent: Baptist Stories from the Emergent Frontier.  Emergent Baptists are those who believe there is more to God, Jesus, and God’s kingdom than modern Christianity and its denominational categories have been able to define. Emergent Baptists believe it is incumbent upon us to participate in—and write—the narrative for our time and place. Like generations before us, we hope to take what our forefathers and mothers gave us and fashion something from it that is our own. This book contains some of our first efforts at doing so.
