Metanoia Makes a Difference in My Life
By Tyquanisha Fludd
Have you ever been in a program where they teach you how to be a leader? Well, there’s a program in the Chicora Cherokee neighborhood in North Charleston called the Metanoia Young Leaders Program where they teach children like me how to be a leader.
When I arrive at Metanoia each day, I feel that I am special because the teachers treat everyone equally and there are no teachers’ pets. The rules apply to everyone including me.
There is a wonderful staff here at Metanoia. They each have such good qualities. Ms. Charmaine is stylish, nice and has a beautiful voice. Rev. Bill and Rev. Evelyn are very nice and caring people. Ms. Liz is a great role model whom I admire. Ms. Paulette is such a great cook. I love her cornbread and cupcakes. They are the best I have ever tasted. I saved Ms. Quanna for last because she is my favorite. She is funny and when you are down, she gets you up and about.
If I weren’t at Metanoia, I would probably be with my friends following them and getting myself in trouble like I used to. I love Metanoia and being involved in it.
