Vietnamese
congregations
work together in Greenville
By Rev. Duc Nguyen Van
God has prepared to
establish a Vietnamese Baptist Mission in Greenville. He has a wonderful
plan for every nation, including every one of us.
April 30, 1975, was a
disaster for many Vietnamese but God is in control and because of that day
many people have come to know Christ as their personal Savior no matter who
they are ‑ the northern or the southern people.
God has brought the
Vietnamese people to different countries around the world to expand God’s
kingdom. One of the Vietnamese refugees is Xuan Tran Ngoc who attended
Holmes Bible College in Greenville. In 1990, Xuan established the Vietnamese
Baptist Church in Greenville. At the beginning, there were only four
members. Time goes by; the church has extended to three other Baptist
churches.
I am pastor of Vietnamese
Blessing Baptist Church and we have about 60 members. Kinh Thai Sy is pastor
of the congregation at Parisview Baptist Church in Greenville and there are
50 members. Quang Nguyen Phuoc, who also graduated from Holmes Bible
College, is pastor of Love Baptist Church. There are about 20 members.
Four churches are working
together to bring the Gospel to the Vietnamese people in Greenville and the
result is very humbling.
As pastor of Vietnamese
Blessing Baptist Church and on behalf of Vietnamese congregations, I would
like to express our sincere thanks to Parisview Baptist Church and the
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina.
We invite all who are
called to minister to Vietnamese people to contact us at (864) 292-3556 or
(864) 322-9382. Please keep us in your prayers.
The ministry to
Vietnamese at Parisview Baptist Church in Greenville is one of the
ministries supported by your gifts to the State Missions Offering of the
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina. The goal for 2005 is
$110,000.
